Trio Ginga
Trio Ginga is what happens when a couple music veterans connect with a native Brazilian beauty and form a group. Lead singer and Brazilian native Kenya has been singing since she was a young child. After moving to the United States in 2000, Kenya began performing across the US as well as Central and South America. In addition, she traveled through Chile, Peru, Argentina, Guatemala and Mexico. Kenya has performed across the United States at various conventions, churches and retreats as well as some more famous venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Percussionist Dann Sheriill has been a professional musician based in Nashville for well over 20 years. He shares performance and production credits with such greats as Steve Winwood, Engelbert Humperdinck, Nino Segarra, Bonnie Bramlett, and Mel Tillis. Dann has been working with Trio Ginga’s guitarist Vince Quinn (Esther Phillips, Michael Stuart, The Platters, Livingston Taylor) for the last seven years. Together they have worked with Som Brasileiro, Music City Samba, Trabuko, Afinke Orchestra, and several other Latin groups. These three powerful musicians come together to create Nashville’s only truly authentic Brazilian group. They specialize in the ever-famous styles of Samba, Bossa Nova, as well as some more unique Brazilian styles like MPB, Axe, and Forro.
